This is a recipe from the States, and like all their recipes, it’s super easy to make.
I love tarts or something with jam for breakfast. It reminds me of my childhood.
Oat Bars with Jam
- Preparation time: 15 minutes + baking
- Ingredients for a 20x20cm baking pan (about 16 bars)
- Difficulty: Easy recipe
- Ingredients
- 100 grams of rolled oats
- 80 grams of all-purpose flour
- 20 grams of almond flour
- 90 grams of brown sugar
- 95 grams of butter (or 70 grams of oil for vegans)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 200 grams of jam
- Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a food processor mix the flour, almond flour, brown sugar, and butter cut into pieces. Pulse a few times until the mixture becomes sandy. Add the oats and mix with a spatula.
- Pour 2/3 of the mixture into the baking pan lined with parchment paper.
- Press down firmly, evenly with the bottom of a glass, to compact the dough. Pour the jam over the top and then the remaining dough. Compact this as well.
- Bake in a preheated oven for about thirty-five minutes.
Tips to ensure the success of the dish:
- Don’t use a food processor to mix the oat flakes, otherwise you risk pulverizing them and thus removing the crunchiness.
- I use a jam not too sweet. I like it : raspberry or sour cherry or strawberry with no added sugar.
- The baking time is approximate. Each oven is different
