Who I am

I was born and raised in Rome, a city so fascinating that it is impossible not to love.

My culinary roots and memories are cosmopolitan.

First of all, my maternal grandmother was from Friuli in Northern Italy and my favorite great-aunt lived in the Marche in Eastern Italy. While I lived some periods of my life in England, France, Finland, and the United States, I traveled almost all over the world, experimenting with traditional dishes everywhere, stealing recipes and using new raw materials.

The irony is that as a child I hated food! I only ate out of taste if they took me to a trattoria in Testaccio, in the heart of Rome, where I could order the amatriciana bucatini or the rigatoni with the pajata sauce. Suddenly, when I was six years old, a hunger and an unspeakable taste curiosity exploded. The result is that I have to stay always on a diet.

Actually, until late adolescence, I loved making only sweets. Then I decided to start studying: baking, candying, how to make jams and so on, without forgetting the numerous courses attended by Michelin star chefs, to conclude with a professional diploma as a sous chef.

Of one thing I’m sure: I will always remain mainly a big eater and a curious gourmandise with the crocodile tears always in my pocket.
