Hot milk sponge cake

- 4 eggs
- 180 grams of granulated sugar
- 230 grams of all-purpose flour
- 200 grams of whole milk
- 60 grams of butter
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Icing sugar to taste
- Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a pan, melt the butter with the milk, and heat until it begins to simmer, just below the boiling point.
- In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla until thick and fluffy.
- Fold into the eggs the sifted flour with the baking powder and mix well until the mixture has no lumps.
- Stir the milk mixture into the batter and spoon it into the greased round cake pan.
- Bake in the oven for about thirty to thirty-five minutes.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool before dusting it with powdered sugar.
Tips to ensure the success of the dish:
- The eggs must be at room temperature.
- The cooking time in the oven depends on the oven you have. It is always a good idea to do the toothpick test if you are unsure.
